Buckets

I finally got onto a project i've been wanting to do for ages since coming across this tutorial on stitching chickens  website. I fell in love with all of the different buckets she had made and have been itching to make my own. So as my lounge became more and more cluttered with toys i decided a couple of fabric toy buckets would be a good place to start. Not to mention being able to select from all the amazing kids fabrics they have around now.

Drafting the pattern was the toughest part as i didn't have any graph paper so had to rely on some rusty maths skills to make sure everything was square. Enter the better half, who's maths skills are nowhere near as rusty as mine to save the day before i screwed it all up and threw it away! Next time i'm buying graph paper!

This is such an easy pattern, the whole thing is cut in one piece  - 1 inner, 1 outer and 1 lining and is super fast.
Pinning the lining and batting together and then they are sewn
 Then adding the outer

 Ta  da! buckets!

Loving the birdies, so cute. The other half wanted to know if there was a sale on birdies when i came home with this in 3 colours! And i have heaps of scraps left so i will have to think about what to use them for - hmmmm beanbag cover, play mat or bed quilt i'm thinking. Stay tuned!
